Hello! My name is Karishma. I am 14 years old and I go to school at Rugby Free Secondary School ( RFSS ). I am fundraising for a trip to help others with education and activities.
In July 2027, me and other students at my school have been given the opportunity to go to Zanzibar in Africa. We will be going to help teach students, build schools/classrooms, and play sports with them. I believe it is an awesome opportunity and will be a great experience, likely to be once in a lifetime too.
This trip will allow us to learn as well as teach, learn about their lifestyle, their country, culture and more. We will get to experience the surrounding areas as we will be going on a water safari. Many people who know me such as friends, family, teachers and people within my community constantly say I am kind, helpful, considerate, practical etc.
I’m super excited for this! Being able to help others means so so much to me. I am prepared to learn from this opportunity and I strongly believe that it will benefit me later in life with social skills, handy work( by building the schools )and communication.
The people in Zanzibar will be the ones benefiting the most but I believe we will benefit too. Hopefully, we can help them and it will allow them to get higher grades by having more classrooms meaning they can learn according to their own age groups and capabilities. I would also like to be able to take some gifts over to them such as toys, board games, art & craft supplies etc.
I am raising this money to make a difference. The money donated will pay for travel expenses and gifts to give to the children. Knowing how many children there are I don’t think that my own birthday, Christmas and pocket money would be able to include all children which is why I am raising funds for this adventure.
I think every child should be able to access the right education and help they need, all over the world and with your help, we will be able to contribute towards that.
When the trip is over, we will have shared so much, whether that be a new sport, subject or future life skill. Whilst 2027 feels so far away, raising £3000 alone is going to be a struggle and isn’t really enough time.
Sooo.. hopefully this is where you are willing to help out! If you can contribute with a donation, I would be extremely thankful and it will massively help. I would also welcome the opportunity to attend fetes, festivals, school events etc. I will be putting updates on here on how I am doing so you are aware of how much you have all helped me. I will be selling things like Hama Bead designs, hand made jewellery, paintings, drawings, bakes and much more. In addition, I will look to undertake small jobs to help in the community such as car washing, gardening, any task I can etc. If you can donate, please do.
